Whether you’re drawn to music under the stars at Henham Park, the haunting beauty of opera at Snape, or the tastes and smells of Aldeburgh’s bustling food markets, Suffolk has a festival for every season and every taste.  At The Suffolk Cottage Collection, we match the magic of these events with beautiful places to stay – from historic farmhouses and romantic retreats to coastal hideaways and village gems.

A unique experience for music lovers of all ages. From local talent to renowned headliners, our diverse lineup promises something for all the family.

Founded by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, the Aldeburgh Festival is a celebration of music and creativity, drawing global talent to the iconic Snape Maltings Concert Hall.  With events spanning everything from contemporary classical music to opera and site-specific performances in churches, halls and even on Aldeburgh Beach, this is a cultural event of international standing. Our cottages in Aldeburgh, Snape and nearby villages offer the perfect base for festival-goers.

Celebrating the UK’s most easterly town and the first place to see the sunrise, First Light Festival is a 24-hour multi-arts event held on the golden sands of Lowestoft beach. With live music, literature, wellbeing sessions, science talks, silent discos and sunrise gatherings, it’s a unique celebration of light, creativity and coastal living. It’s a magical experience that’s growing in reputation each year.  Stay in one of our coastal cottages for a rejuvenating base.

Blending charm with creativity, the Southwold Arts Festival is a week-long celebration of music, literature, drama and visual arts in one of Suffolk’s most beloved seaside towns.  With guest speakers, concerts, exhibitions and fringe performances, it draws cultural crowds who also enjoy the beach, pier and local dining.  Choose from our Southwold and Reydon cottages for a stylish stay during this elegant cultural week.

Set in the rolling parkland of Henham Park near Southwold, Latitude is Suffolk’s flagship arts and music festival.  Featuring world-class musicians, comedians, writers and theatre companies, it’s a truly immersive cultural experience in a breathtaking setting.  Festival highlights include lakeside stages, woodland installations, wellness workshops and family zones. Staying in one of our nearby countryside or coastal cottages means you can escape the crowds at the end of the day and relax in peaceful luxury.

A vibrant family event with deep roots in Suffolk’s coastal heritage, Aldeburgh Carnival is a joyful summer highlight.  Featuring traditional carnival floats, music, games, fireworks and the famous RNLI lifeboat launch, it’s a celebration of community and fun by the sea.  Closely associated with the Thorpeness Regatta, this is a great time for families to enjoy Suffolk’s seaside towns.  Choose from our selection of cottages in Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and the surrounding area for a classic British summer holiday.
