The Space

Ground Floor
A uniquely designed conversion of a former Suffolk outbuilding, The Workshop offers open plan, ground floor sleeping and living accommodation to couples and individuals.

Sitting / Dining / Kitchen
Sliding/folding patio doors lead from the oak deck into a large open plan living space where the focal point is a suspended spherical steel fireplace designed and made in France by Dominique Imbert.

Facing it is a generous corner sofa with views out to the meadow. Other features include a large flat screen Smart TV, a side table designed by 20th century designer Eero Saarinen and Tolomeo Mega floor lamp.

The dining area is furnished with a table and chairs created by the Danish furniture designer Arne Jacobson in the 1950s, including four iconic ‘series 7’ chairs. The well equipped kitchen has a built-in cooker, Nespresso Coffee machine, integrated dishwasher, microwave and a white stone surface with sleek grey units underneath.

Bedroom
A curving white wall leads to the bedroom where you'll find a king size bed with crisp white 100% cotton sheets and duvet cover and a double built in wardrobe. Double aspect windows give welcome views across the meadow.

Bathroom
In the spacious bathroom is a large double-ended bath, wc and basin along with a huge circular shower cubicle.

Outside

Outside this self-catering Suffolk country holiday accommodation is a generous decking providing a delightful suntrap and the four patio doors slide back to extend the open plan living space to the outside.

The meadow gives a picturesque backdrop and changes throughout the year – arrive in the late spring and it is likely to be awash with buttercups and in the winter visited by moorhens and other wildlife.

There is plenty of parking for two cars on the gravel driveway.

Why book with us?

When you book with The Suffolk Cottage Collection, you're getting the best possible price- no hidden fees, no inflated commissions. And if you speak to us, chances are you'll chat with Donna, who turns bookings into a breeze and always goes the extra mile with a smile. "Donna was fantastic with communication. Nothing was ever too much trouble."

We are local

We're not just in Suffolk - we're part of it. Our little farmhouse HQ looks out over rolling fields and winding lanes, and when we pop out for a walk, it's usually through the same villages and footpaths you'll be exploring on your holiday. We're properly local - and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Always here to help you

No robots. No "please press 1." Just real people who pick up the phone and actually want to talk to you. Got a question? Want a recommendation? Need to know which pub does the best Sunday roast? We're here. And if we don't already know the answer, someone in the village probably does.

Handpicked with heart

We don't do bland. Every one of our cottages is chosen because it has something special - the kind of place we'd book ourselves (or proudly recommend to Mum). If it's in our collection, it's passed the The Suffolk Cottage Collection Standard: charm, comfort, and a sense of place you can feel the moment you step through the door.

Badingham

Located on the outskirts of the village of Badingham in a rural location. You can walk to the local White Horse pub in around 25 minutes, but the road is the A1120 and can be quite busy at certain times of they day.

The village of Peasenhall is in the other direction and this quaint little village offers a shop and Post Office.

The village of Dennington is only 5 minutes by car and offers an outstanding traditional Suffolk pub with fabulous food and atmosphere.

A little further is Framlingham (7-10 minutes by car) and here you have a super market, two service stations, 4 great pubs and lots of interesting and independent shops to browse around. Oh.. and did we mention Framlingham's Castle on The Hill?! A MUST SEE when you're visiting the area.

The Suffolk Heritage Coast is only 30 minutes away by car and with a mixed variety of coastal towns and villages, you'll wish you were staying longer, with so much to do and see.

You will need a car to get around. Or if you're organised and book a real 'Staycation' and a supermarket delivery, you could get a train to Wickham Market or Darsham and a short 15-20 minute taxi ride to The Worksop.

Definitely bring your bikes if you have them. There are miles of Suffolk lanes to enjoy.

You may experience intermittent traffic noise from the A road close-by.

Guest Reviews

Really enjoyed our short stay at The Workshop - we were attending a wedding locally and the property was ideal. Really clean and well furnished. Check in instructions were easy to follow and bed was really comfy.
The Workshop was beyond our expectations, will definitely want to return. There was a missing shelf in fridge that previous guest accidentally broke, we was not too bothered by it yet Donna turned up with a new replacement literally as we was unpacking!! Donna was also very friendly, responsive and recommended a place for us to park in Southwold close to the beach that Donna goes to with her family. Altogether a great little break.
I stayed at The Workshop for 4 Nights. The property is located in a private area and it was really nice to be able to make use of the decked area in front of a field (which is not overlooked) to enjoy breakfast and do a bit of sunbathing on the provided sun loungers. The property is well provisioned for self-catering with everything we needed. The large open lounge/diner was great and we particularly liked the artistic wood burner that is a real centre piece. The large screen TV was nice to have and it pulls out from the wall to be angled into the room. There was also an Alexa provided which made putting on some tunes very easy. The bedroom and bathroom were both a good size and to have high quality linen and towels was very nice. The only slight negatives for us were that the bedroom is very bright in a morning as the glass partition design makes blackout impossible, so take an eye mask. Also the shower whilst great is a waterfall type only so ladies should consider a shower cap.
