Features

The Space

Ground Floor
The wide patio doors lead straight into the kitchen diner, with the stairs leading up the bedroom and door to the right leading to the living room.

Living Room
A charming room, full of character with a decorative original stove showing how the cottage used to be, the original brick floor and a window overlooking the rear patio garden. This cosy room is furnished with a sofa, armchair, rug and a 32'' flat-screen smart TV.

Kitchen
With hand-made painted wooden kitchen units, a cooker with a gas hob and electric oven, a dishwasher, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine and microwave. There is also a small table and chairs so you can enjoy meals in the comfort of your holiday cottage, and patio doors to the back garden. The head height in the kitchen area is low and we would suggest may not be suitable for guests over 5'10".

First Floor
Very steep narrow ladder stairs lead from a door in the kitchen directly into the bedroom above. There are photos of the ladder stairs available.

Bedroom
A hand-made wooden king size bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. The room has a wonderful sash window and large casement window looking towards Aldeburgh's marshes, original pine floorboards and bedside tables.

Bathroom
There's a roll-top bath, separate shower, a W.C., hand basin and a wardrobe.

Outside

Outside
There's a patio garden with a roofed area and a table and chairs.

The lovely large lawned garden is a unique benefit to this charming bolt-hole. It's fenced and private, perfect for picnics and doggies to wander and enjoy.

Parking

On road parking is usually available nearby on the High Street and adjoining side streets.

This holiday cottage in Aldeburgh has a quirky layout, which is part of the charm of staying in a period property. There are extremely steep stairs (more like a ladder or ascending to the crow's nest than normal stairs!) so please be aware a sense of adventure and agility is needed when heading to the bedroom or bathroom!

There is a Smart TV which runs off streaming and apps, any live TV is only available via appropriate apps and so cannot be guaranteed

Why book with us?

When you book with The Suffolk Cottage Collection, you're getting the best possible price- no hidden fees, no inflated commissions. And if you speak to us, chances are you'll chat with Donna, who turns bookings into a breeze and always goes the extra mile with a smile. "Donna was fantastic with communication. Nothing was ever too much trouble."

We are local

We're not just in Suffolk - we're part of it. Our little farmhouse HQ looks out over rolling fields and winding lanes, and when we pop out for a walk, it's usually through the same villages and footpaths you'll be exploring on your holiday. We're properly local - and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Always here to help you

No robots. No "please press 1." Just real people who pick up the phone and actually want to talk to you. Got a question? Want a recommendation? Need to know which pub does the best Sunday roast? We're here. And if we don't already know the answer, someone in the village probably does.

Handpicked with heart

We don't do bland. Every one of our cottages is chosen because it has something special - the kind of place we'd book ourselves (or proudly recommend to Mum). If it's in our collection, it's passed the The Suffolk Cottage Collection Standard: charm, comfort, and a sense of place you can feel the moment you step through the door.

Aldeburgh

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain.

Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months.

The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home.

For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
